Education

The University of Applied Sciences and Arts (FHNW) primary focus is the quality of education. With nine schools and four quality campuses, FHNW covers a broad spectrum of subjects and enables interdisciplinary and diverse research. Services & Facilities

Library

The FHNW libraries provide a wide selection of media and information in physical and digital forms. The four libraries offer information on different fields:

  1. Library Olten – The FHNW Library Olten is a particular research library for applied psychology, business studies, and social work. Offering a wide range of print and electronic media covering these subjects.
  2. Media Library HGK Basel – provides scientific literature and digital media in the fields of art, design, interior design/scenography, and the respective theoretical and teaching backgrounds.
  3. Muttenz library – provides technical literature for the Schools of Architecture, Civil Engineering & Geomatics, Life Sciences, Education, and Social Work.
  4. Vera Oeri Library Basel – provides media in the field of music and it boasts the most extensive music collection in Switzerland.

Sport

FHNW Sports provides students and staff an attractive and diverse program of sporting activities for regular exercise and provides access to lesser-known sports and the opportunity to make new friends. At the same time, alumni retired FHNW staff, students of other universities, civil partners, or spouses of FHNW students and staff may participate in desired FHNW Sports programs by agreement with those responsible on-site.

Career Center

FHNW provides students with more than a platform. Career Services networks their students with the corporate world – and vice versa. It offers students professional and practice-based support to begin their careers. At the same time, they provide companies with the right employees, offering various options to get to know the students on the campuses in Basel, Olten, and Brugg-Windisch.
