Constructor Institute of Technology, located in Schaffhausen, Switzerland offers computer science and software engineering expertise at Pre-Master, Master of Science, PhD, postdoctoral and executive education levels. Our professors have research chairs in Quantum Software Engineering, Software Engineering, and Software Testing and Analysis Research. They are authors of multiple distinguished publications in top journals of their respective disciplines, which keeps them at the forefront of these dynamic, fast-changing disciplines.  In addition, most have professional experience from industry, including from tech start-ups.

The vision
Constructor Institute of Technology aims to become a leading research institution in Switzerland for Software Engineering and Quantum technologies with upwards of 1,000 bachelor’s, master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral students by 2033.

OUR FACILITIES

Constructor Institute of Technology (CIT) features premises in a Tech Start-up atmosphere, with dedicated rooms for teaching and offices for studying and research and modern equipment. In addition to lecture and study halls, the common areas and dedicated project and group discussion spaces allows students to meet with their professors informally and collaborate with classmates from other programs and cohorts.

Various panels, guest speaker events and community activities are held throughout the year, including lunchtime open lectures by researchers and local tech professionals.

There is a pizza shop, convenient store and fitness center, and a food truck that comes daily to our campus for quick lunch optinons.  Our bus stop (Kreuz, 1 minute walk) connects to Schaffhausen train station (just 2 stops away, 3 minute ride) and historic Old Town.

Students also have access to shared kitchens (refrigerators, microwaves) and the campus culture encourages informal shared lunch between professors and students.

Our Location

The building is immediately adjacent to the Rhine river, with access to the riverside promenade (views to the vineyards across the river) and the Old Town of Schaffhausen just 2 bus stops away (or a 20 minute walk along the promenade on the Rhine river).

Student Accommodation

Constructor Institute of Technology offers shared apartments for most of our master students. Those who apply early have first access to reserve rooms.  There are also various other options in nearby Schaffhausen and neighbouring Neuhausen (equal distance from campus), which offer many different housing options under CHF 1’000 per month.

• Near the apartments there is a grocery store, fitness center, bus stops to connect to CIT facilities and the amenities of historic Old Town Schaffhausen.
• Neuhausen also has a train station connecting to Schaffhausen (3 minutes) and Zurich (40 minutes).
• From the apartments, it is a 20 minute walk along the river to the Constructor Institute of Technology facilities, or a 6 minute bus ride.
