The University of Geneva offers more than 500 programs, including 129 Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs, 80 doctoral programs, and more than 300 continuing education programs covering an extremely wide variety of fields.

UNIGE training courses are organized according to the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System ( ECTS ).

Basic training is made up of two study courses:

  • the university bachelor’s degree, which is equivalent to 180 ECTS credits.
  • the university master’s degree, which is equivalent to 90 or 120 ECTS credits, depending on the case.

Along with these basic training courses, the University can offer additional certificates of 30 or 60 ECTS credits.

The in-depth training consists of:

  • the specialization certificate which is equivalent to 30 ECTS credits;
  • the master of advanced studies (MAS) which is equivalent to at least 60 ECTS credits;
  • Ph.D.

Continuing education includes:

  • continuing education certificates equivalent to a minimum of 10 ECTS credits;
  • continuing education diplomas equivalent to at least 30 ECTS credits;
  • Masters of advanced studies in continuing education (MAS in continuing education) equivalent to a minimum of 60 ECTS credits.
